Hello World!
Hello! Well, I'm so excited about the launch of my new website. Please take a look around if you have not already done so. I hope you will enjoy it. Photography is one of my many and biggest influential passions in life. I have been shooting photography since about 2006. It started out as a hobby when my husband gave me a digital camera for my birthday. I fell in love with the hobby and it has grown to so much more over the years. I recently entered into the professional arena of photography thanks to the enthusiasm from many family, friends, co-workers and a even a few strangers.
A little about myself... I am from Kansas City and have lived in the area for most of my life. I'm married with 2 boys. Aside from professional photography, I have a career in the corporate world as a project/program manager.
So why photography? I know that each time I take pictures, that there will be hidden treasures to unfold during the post-processing phase. It is sort of like having a connection into another world allowing me to see and capture things that we don't have the opportunity to always notice at first glance or possibly at all with the human eye. Galleries will be posted soon.
This isn't just a place to showcase my work as a photographer... For the observer, I want it to serve as an escape route from the day-to-day drudgeries of life... I want it to be a place for one to go and soak in the beauty of God's beautiful creations, whether it be a tranquil sunset, a wild animal, a majestic mountain or a newborn baby's precious little toes. The opportunities are endless... I guess that's why I love it so much.
Many photographers specialize in one area and I have been asked on occasion what is my area of specialty. I don't know that I've determined a single area of photography. I probably enjoy nature and wildlife photography the most, but I don't want to limit it to just that. I love to do portraiture when time allows for it. I enjoy architecture and still life photography. I love to shoot macro photography. So, we will see where I land. Right now, I'm flying with whatever strikes inspiration and I'm not ready to settle down to just one specific area. I don't know that I ever will. Why limit it? Whatever the case may be, I hope that my work inspires you or at the very least brings a smile to your face.
